Level II
Level II critical care centres have the capability to provide comprehensive critical care but may not have resources to care for specific patient’s population (e.g., cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and trauma). Although these centres may able to deliver a high quality of care to most critically ill patients, transfer agreements must be established in advance for patients with specific problems. The intensive care units in level II centres may or not may have an academic mission
